Funding partners set their own requirements, but three subjects can come up for any Evanston, WY business: recent business bank statements, how long the business has operated, and whether collateral secures the money. An LLC adds its formation and ownership papers. Meadowhollow Business Capital takes the first call at (307) 381-3526; partners review the file and decide.
A partner can ask for business bank statements, tax returns, proof of how long the business has operated and details of any collateral. An LLC can be asked for its articles of organization, operating agreement and ownership list. Each partner sets its own list.
LLC Business Loan Requirements: Company Papers Beside a Shelving Quote
An LLC borrows in its own name, so a partner wants to see that the company exists, who owns it and who can sign for it. For a retail shop asking about equipment financing for new shelving, the LLC papers sit next to the shelving quote:
- Articles of organization, as filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State
- The operating agreement, showing the members and their ownership shares
- The company's federal EIN confirmation
- A certificate of good standing, when the partner asks for one
- Identification for each owner who will sign, since a partner can ask owners for a personal guarantee
The shelving quote then carries the purchase itself: the number of runs and end caps and the installed price. Shelving built into the structure, and new walls, are building work outside this site.
Not every shop is an LLC with staff. Nonemployer Statistics counted 125 retail businesses without paid employees in Uinta County, WY for 2024, a count that takes in sole proprietors as well as companies.
Bank Statements and What a Partner Reads in Them
Business bank statements show what a tax return cannot: the last few months, deposit by deposit. A partner can read the deposits as a check on the sales the business reports, the ending balances as a cushion, and any overdrafts or returned items as a warning sign.
Illustration only, invented figures: a shop's deposits over three months are $41,200, $38,650 and $44,900, an average of $41,583.33 a month, and its ending balances are $12,400, $9,850 and $14,300. A proposed payment of $1,160 a month equals 2.8% of those average deposits.
Every page of each statement counts, blank pages included, and a partner can ask for statements from every account the business uses. Health care practices add a report of their own: an accounts receivable aging that lists open claims by insurer and by age. The Evanston, WY page lists the papers a clinic buyer can bring.
Time in Business and Why It Matters to a Partner
Time in business stands in for a track record. A business that has run for several years has tax returns covering more than one year of sales and costs, so a partner can read how it moved from one year to the next.
The request form on this site asks for a time-in-business range, and each partner sets its own minimum. Proof can come from the formation filing, the first business tax return or a business license.
Time in business is also why buying a going company reads differently: the business being bought brings its own history, and a term loan for the purchase rests on the seller's years of returns.
More than half (56.9%) of the 566 employer establishments that County Business Patterns recorded in Uinta County, WY for 2023 had a staff of fewer than five.
When Collateral Comes Into the Conversation
Collateral is what a partner can claim if payments stop, and it enters the conversation in three ways. On equipment financing, the machine or fixture being bought is the collateral. On an inventory loan, the stock is. On working capital, a partner can take a lien on receivables or other business assets, rely on the business's deposits with no specific collateral, or ask the owners for a personal guarantee.
Illustration only, invented figures: a dental office finances a $31,500 chair package over 48 months at 10.75%, a payment of $810.31. The chairs secure the deal, and after 12 payments the balance still owed is $24,840.77.
Property loans are outside the six options here, so the collateral in question is business assets, not a building. The term loans page covers business purchases, where a partner reviews both the business and the buyer.
